Major Crown Projects and Sustainable Design.

I am presently working as Senior Project Manager at Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC formerly known as PWGSC), Real Property - Major Crown Projects (MCP) with 28 years Project Management/ Design Architect public and private sector experience. Clients include: Department of Defense, RCMP, Public Safety, Health Canada, Elections Canada and the Department of Justice. I am a Canadian Citizen with a Bachelor's of Architecture Degree with High Distinction from Carleton University, Ottawa Canada, (1991), holding: Government of Canada TS Clearance (PS-L3), Bilingual (English/French) CBC, and Aboriginal Status/Metis.

As Senior Project Manager (B Arch) I have served as Project Leader on the planning and construction of High Security & Mission Critical projects throughout the National Capital Region. More recently I have managed several fit-up projects including the implementation of WP 2.0 (Workplace 2.0 Federal Government Standards). These new Standards promote Sustainable Design practices resulting in a LEED Silver Certification on the Elections Canada Office relocation.

Prior to joining Public Works I worked as Project Architect in the private sector for 10 years. From 1995-2000 I worked in Washington DC with Douglas Cardinal Architect on the design of the Smithsonian’s National Museum of the American Indian.($220mil) I was also lead designer on projects with Einhorn Yaffee Prescott (UCDC Campus, Goucher College, Fort Myers Residence historic preservation), and Shalom Baranes (National Airport expansion). Between 1991-1995 I was the Project Architect on Affordable Housing Projects in the Sudbury area with NYB Architects.

I have been active in pursuing technology innovations to stream line the Project Delivery Process for the Canadian Government including work with Autodesk’s Buzzsaw and Oproma Online Project Management tools and received a “PWGSC Innovation” award for the creation of an online database “intranet” for Construction waste re-use on Government of Canada Construction Projects.
